Micro Rotary Valve

A durable, heavyweight rotary valve for lower capacity applications – typical throughputs of 20 to 1000 lbs. per hour. The rotor volume can be custom-machined to exactly suit the desired throughput in each application. Functionally, both an airlock and a metering device.

Common Applications

  • Additives and blending
  • Micro-dosing
  • Pneumatic conveying
  • Catalysts
  • Fertilizers
  • Seed
  • Minerals

Key Advantages

The housing, rotor, and endbells are milled from solid blocks of metal to assure precise, leak-free fit that will operate trouble-free for years.

4-5x the useful life of similar, fabricated small-capacity rotary valves.

The rotor can be custom-machined with pockets of varying number, length, width, and/or depth to tailor the volumetric capacity per revolution to your application.

Problems Solved

Accurate dosing of high-cost, highly-critical catalysts or other additives into a batch or continuous process for tight, as-expected process results.

How It Works

The Micro Valve housing, rotor, and endbells are precision-milled from blocks of 4140 abrasion resistant steel.

Rotors are held in Precision inventory in an unfinished state; pocket design and volumetric capacity are determined for each application and machined once an order is placed.

Rotors are sealed to the housing using two Quad-Ring viton or nitrile seals inserted into square grooves machined into the rotor body.

Self-aligning bearings and Viton lip seals in the endbells provide protection against dust migration.
